The plan is the first part of a four-phase approach and establishes LJMU’s goals and priorities for the next 10 years:
- Rainwater harvesting
- Solar panels
- Wildflower gardens
- LJMU launched UK’s first BSc (Hons) Climate Change degree programme
- Help to educate children in local schools about the importance of environmental responsibility
- Key partner in Liverpool City Region’s sustainability strategy
- Larger investment into delivering sustainability projects into curriculum
- Developing students' employment skills for climate change, carbon management and sustainability awareness
- Development of new policies aimed at decarbonisation, recycling 70% of our waste, increase in number of plant-based items on catering menus
