Your campus

A university of the city

We have two campuses and 30 buildings. We also have big plans for the future.

We’re very proud of our campuses. Not only because they provide a modern and inspiring learning space for all of our students but also because they’re a place people really want to be.

Our campuses are a bustling hive of activity. People will be studying, chatting over a coffee, relaxing with friends or taking part in one of our events. You’ll see friendly debates between academics, people talking to our student reps and study groups working on joint projects.

We have impressive plans for our campuses; plans that will benefit not only our students and staff, but also people living, working or visiting Liverpool. It’s an exciting time.

Copperas Hill

Located between our two campuses, Copperas Hill is home to our flagship Student Life Building and Sports Building. Here, you’ll find a wide range of student services, from wellbeing to careers advice, along with the Students’ Union, JMSU. You can also make use of our state-of-the-art gym and sports facilities.

Fact
This three and a half acre site in the heart of Liverpool was built on a disused former Royal Mail site, until LJMU developed it into these fantastic student facilities.

Your Students’ Union

Your Students’ Union is based across campus, so it doesn’t matter where you study, you’re always close by. Their main base is at the Student Life Building at Copperas Hill, where their reception, Advice Centre and staff offices are, but you can also find them in the social spaces at Byrom Street, Tithebarn Street, John Lennon Art and Design Building and Redmonds Building. They’re the ones in the blue hoodies – say hello!
