Our core areas of activity
Coach education
Our research group are leading the way in coach development and education. We have a critical mass on high quality impactful research that covers care in coaching, developing the para coaching workforce, improving reflective practice within coach education, and supporting coaches to care for themselves.
Our team have conducted consultancy projects for UK Coaching, England Netball, The FA, many Premier League and Women’s Super league Football Clubs, the RFL, RFU, and many more.

In the pursuit of achieving optimal performance performers will experience psychological pressure in many situations throughout their careers.
Cutting across sport, business and health care settings, our applied research aims to explore the underpinning mechanisms of the processes involved in helping performers to thrive and deliver optimal outcomes.

Physical Education and Human Movement
Our staff specialise in improving education from the teacher to the learner, within schools and life-long physical literacy.
Further we are developing cutting edge research on how to motivate young people and develop fundamental movement skills across the lifespan.
