Can you help shape the maritime skills agenda?
Employers are at the heart of the process for designing new apprenticeship standards. Groups of employers, known as ‘trailblazers’, pool their knowledge and experience of the sector to develop new occupational standards that will address sectoral skills needs and routes for progression.
Join an employer group
Size is no barrier. It is very important that the views of both small and large companies are represented within trailblazer groups, so please contact us if you can help shape the maritime skills agenda.
You contribute your knowledge and experience. We keep face-to-face meetings to a minimum. The Maritime SuperSkills team provide the Secretariat and produce all the draft documentation needed by the Institute for Apprenticeships approvals body, for your comment and revision.
Respond to the online consultations and comment on the draft standards and associated assessment plans
We will keep you informed of opportunities to comment on the standards being developed across the sector. It is your chance to have your say, and help shape draft standards and assessment plans.
Why is taking on an apprentice good for your business?
- Upskilling new or existing staff with a higher-level apprenticeship can make a real difference to your business
- Apprentices will be employed by you, working full-time in your business, and at least 80% of this training is done on-the-job
