Partner institution staff

Access to electronic resources for partner institutions

LJMU delivers a number of courses in partnership with other institutions, both in the UK and internationally.  Access to LJMU electronic resources is determined by licence agreements applied by suppliers/publishers, which may be subject to change at any time.

Library Services will communicate any such changes to the Collaborative Provision team in Academic Registry and via the following FAQ:

Logging in (authentication)

If students try to log in to e-resources to which they are not permitted access, their login credentials are recognised and they will either be blocked or presented with an option to pay for access.

New course planning

Academic staff planning new courses, or discussing potential new collaborative partnerships, should consult their Librarian via LJMU HelpMe as early as possible to check resource availability.

Some services are not available to collaborative partner staff and students including academic skills, the purchase of resources, inter-library loans and membership of reciprocal borrowing schemes such as SCONUL Access. Any requests for these services should be directed to the partner institution.

Please also note that due to strict licensing obligations imposed by rights holders, most software available to LJMU students and staff is not available to partner organisations. This includes EndNote, JISC Online Surveys, NVIVO and SPSS. Again requests for these services should be directed to the partner institution. Microsoft Office 365 is available to all staff and students.
