International exchange student programme

The Sports and Exercise Science (SES) international exchange and study portal provides key information for students an academic exchange experience at undergraduate or postgraduate taught (PGT) level.

We've outlined eligibility, curriculum options, and how to make informed choices about your studies at LJMU below.

How to apply

We accept applications from students nominated by Partner Academic Institutions for the opportunity to study for ECTS academic credit in Autumn (Fall) or Spring semesters, or for a full academic year. Please contact your university institutional co-ordinator to determine if you're eligible for exchange at LJMU and follow your university's local nomination procedures.

Nomination deadlines for LJMU:

  • Mid-April for autumn entry
  • Mid-October for spring entry

This calendar ensures exchange students benefit from structured induction, a full teaching term and exam period in each semester, and credit alignment for academic integration.

Direct applications:

We do not accept direct applications from prospective exchange students.

Please contact goabroad@ljmu.ac.uk for further information.
