We contribute actively to teaching within and outside our institution and are committed to the fulfilment of our institution’s strategic plan. We are starting a new one-year taught MSc Programme in Natural Products Discovery in September 2021. Modules will comprise of:
- Analytical Techniques in Natural Products
- Natural Products Chemistry and Biology
- Natural Products formulation
- Natural Products Synthesis
- Research Methods and Professional Skills
- Project/Research Project and Professional Development
This MSc Programme will produce graduates with adequate skills in natural drug discovery and hands-on experience in operating state-of-art equipment who would be well placed in pharmaceutical, phytopharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnological industries and also in the regulatory sector - for example, MHRA.
PhD studies, postdoctoral training, research fellowship hosting and visiting research
We have supervised several home PhD students and international PhD students, as well as postdocs, from different parts of the world, including Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. We have an excellent record of providing high-level PhD and postdoctoral training and supervision and of timely PhD completions. Many of our former PhD students and postdocs are now in leading positions in academia and the industry.
