Agent Zone

Thank you for supporting international students in their journey to study at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). As a valued contracted agent, you play a vital role in this process. This page has been created to better support all our authorised agents and can be used as a first point of reference to help you advise and support LJMU applicants effectively. We hope you will find it useful.

Making an application

Agents and counsellors should submit applications using our Partner Application Form, selecting your agency and branch in the “Agent Reference Code” section. This ensures you are automatically linked to the application from the start.

For applicants applying through UCAS, enter your agency name and branch in the ‘Nominee Name’ field to allow us to appropriately tag your agency to the application during processing.

Tagging enables you to track, manage and update applications. If tagged at the point of application, you will not need to submit an agent authorisation form and can receive copies of communications sent to the applicant from the onset.

If the application was submitted without using the Partner Application Form or without listing the agency in the UCAS Nominee Name field, you will need to formally submit a request for tagging. To do this, the applicant must complete, date and sign our LJMU Agent Authorisation Form (Excel, 75.4KB) to allow us to link your agency to their record post-application.

Submitting documents

After an application has been made, we may request additional supporting documents. Please provide these using the attachment upload facility which uploads documents directly to the applicant’s record.

To use this facility, enter the applicant’s ID number and date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY format) accurately and without any spaces. We process attachment uploads daily making this the fastest and only way to update an application.

Step-by-step guide for admissions

Step 1: Find the correct course

Step 2: Check international application dates and deadlines

Step 3: Check entry requirements, tuition fees and scholarships

Step 4: Make application and submit supporting documentation

Supporting documentation can be submitted at a later stage if not uploaded at the time of application. We may also send information requests requesting additional documents, where necessary, for example CV, portfolio, marriage certificate, etcetera.

Some courses require an ATAS certificate. We will confirm when issuing an offer if this is a requirement for the applicant on the programme they have applied for.

Other requirements and Health courses (Nursing, Social Work, Pharmacy)

In addition to the standard entry requirements, some applicants must complete an admissions assessment as part of the application process. Some courses will also require an interview. All assessments and interviews are conducted online, and applicants will receive communications with guides on completing assessments and booking in for interviews when required.

For Nursing, Social Work, and Pharmacy programmes specifically, students must also complete Fitness to Practise (FtP) checks, which include:

  • Health Questionnaire and Health Screening
  • Criminal Records Check from the student’s home country
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

Information about FtP checks is provided once a student has accepted their offer.

Pre-CAS deposits

All self-funded international students must pay a pre-CAS deposit of £5,000 to receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). All international tuition fee deposit payments must be made via Flywire.

Please note:
We cannot accept alternative payment methods.

Please kindly note that where payments are made via Flywire, there is no requirement to send us copies/receipts of payment. We check Flywire daily, and once the payment is confirmed as delivered, it will be automatically recorded on the student’s application.

Students can track their payment progress directly on their Flywire account and will receive an email confirmation from Flywire upon successful delivery.

Once applicants have submitted all required documents, received and accepted their unconditional offer, and paid the deposit in full, they will receive the pre-CAS declaration form to begin the CAS process. The Pre-CAS declaration form should be reviewed carefully to ensure we populate the CAS with the correct student details.

Pre-CAS interview (PCI)

Students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Iran and Sri-Lanka are required to take part in a Pre-CAS interview (PCI) before they receive their CAS. Pre-CAS interviews are mandatory for students from these countries and last approximately 30 minutes. They must be conducted with a stable internet connection and webcam, and students must not use notes during the interview.

Students required to attend a PCI must pay a minimum deposit of £1,000 before they can book their interview. If the interview is successful, the remaining £4,000 must be paid to receive their CAS.

Bank statements and loan letters

Students may be asked to provide bank statements or an education loan letter before a CAS can be issued. If required, we will communicate this in an information request to the student and a copy of the request will also be sent to the email address on tagged agency.

The financial evidence should show that the student has held £10,224 (living costs for courses outside London) and any unpaid first year tuition fees for a consecutive 28-day period. If using a parent's or guardian's account, supplementary documents like a birth certificate and a letter of consent may also be required.
