Accommodation for International students

A new home in a new country

Moving to a new country to live and study is an exciting challenge, and our team is here to help you settle quickly into your new home.

International students are welcomed at all the accommodation available to home students, and full-time International students (from both inside and outside the EU) can request accommodation using the same process as UK students.

However, the following students should not follow this process. Students who will:

  • attend LJMU on exchange programmes such as ERASMUS or SOCRATES should visit Exchange students for more information
  • join LJMU as direct entrants at level 2 or 3 should contact the Accommodation Office directly at accommodation@ljmu.ac.uk

Please note
All non-UK students will usually be required to pay for their accommodation in full before their arrival in the UK, unless they can provide a UK resident guarantor who is acceptable to the owner of their chosen accommodation.
However, students who choose to live at Atlantic Point or Marybone 1 can pay the cost for the year in two equal instalments – with 50% of the cost payable before arrival and 50% payable just after the Christmas break.
