Dr. Chelsea Oxendale is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences, specializing in Biomechanics, Strength and Conditioning, and Professional Practice. With over 10 years of lecturing experience at the University of Chester, she has also held research roles at the University of Birmingham and University of Bath, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Her research focuses on neuromuscular and biomechanical factors influencing lower limb injury risk, as well as training load monitoring and injury prevention in team sports.

Chelsea completed her PhD on The Internal and External Demands of Multidirectional Running and the Subsequent Effect on Side Cut Biomechanics in Male and Female Team Sport Athletes. She later undertook a postdoctoral role at the University of Bath, working in partnership with the Premier League as an Academy Injury Surveillance Analyst. Her applied experience spans multiple roles, including Sport Scientist, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Personal Trainer, Health and Well-being Advisor, and Physiotherapy Technical Instructor, allowing her to integrate both academic and practical expertise into her teaching and research. Currently, Chelsea has a particular interest in injury screening and return-to-play strategies, especially in female team sport athletes
