Every year over 100 students from our School find quality work placements with prestigious companies, such as Disney, Bentley, Microsoft, Warner Bros and Unilever. The placements are optional, but are strongly encouraged as they can help you become a highly competitive candidate once you have graduated.
In addition to your degree, we also give you the opportunity to gain extra qualifications, such as:
- CIMA Sage for Business Studies students
- CFAB for Accounting and Finance students
- PRINCE2 for Public Relations students
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Professional Diploma and the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing’s (IDM) On-Line Digital Marketing Award for Marketing students
- Microsoft Office Specialist certifications
Our School has an excellent Employability Support Unit, which is dedicated to finding students placements. The Employability Support Unit could also help equip you with the skills you need to impress during rigorous application processes, from offering you CV and application form guidance to running mock interviews and providing psychometric test support.
Every year Liverpool Business School invites prestigious employers to our Placements Fair. This event will give you the opportunity to make contacts with some of the world’s biggest employers. Previously, companies such as Aldi, Bentley, General Motors, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport have attended.
"BDO has an expanding presence in Liverpool through the ongoing roll-out of a Shared Services model which supports a number of processes and teams throughout the UK. In order to sustain this growth we need to bring in capable, intelligent people who can complement the existing team and contribute to our future success. Offering high quality placement opportunities is an excellent way of accessing talented individuals who want to gain work experience in a large professional services environment.
"I attended the Liverpool Business School Placement Fair for the first time in 2016. A large number of students registered their details with us. Our 2017 cohort of 12 placement students based in the BDO Shared Service Centre includes seven who are at LJMU which demonstrates the value of this event. I am excited about the possibilities and growth potential we have for next year and beyond – offering placements and potentially re-hiring placement alumni is an important part of that journey."
