To be determined at pre-course interview: Motivation, interest and determination to participate in a programme of this nature. That the candidate has the learning capability, study opportunity and commitment to embark on the programme.

IELTS
Entry Requirement –
- Academic Qualifications: Levels 4 and 5, preferably in a health-related subject or equivalent, taught in English.
- If the qualification is not taught in English or is an international qualification, students must provide proof of English language proficiency.
Accepted English qualifications:
- IELTS: 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each component (for international students)
- TOEFL iBT: 90–91 overall
- Pearson PTE Academic: 61 overall (minimum 59 in each component)
- Oxford Test of English: 120–130 overall
- Cambridge C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency: 170 overall

Other international requirements
For international applicants to the course, visa arrangements will be handled by the employing service. Any visa application process will therefore be managed by the organisation employing the candidate and admittance to the course will depend on the successful completion of this. We work closely with partner services to ensure this is completed before commencing the course.

RPL/RPEL will be considered in accordance with LJMU regulations.

DBS Requirements
Students are employed as part of their training programme. Employers complete Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks prior to students commencing both their employment and the course; therefore, an additional DBS check from LJMU is not required. We work closely with partner services and have an agreement in place that if a student does not pass their DBS check, the employer will notify us.
