Dr Libby Damjanovic is an experimental psychologist who conducts research on human emotions investigating how they are recognized in different contexts and cultures. She is also interested in how we rely on vocal and facial cues when retrieving memories about familiar people and the way language (spoken and signed) influences how we see colours, facial expressions and remember dynamic events. Some of the experimental tasks that Libby has developed have been applied to measure threat detection performance in police officers both in the UK and abroad and applied also to the assessment of memory performance in clinical populations. Prior to joining Liverpool John Moores University in 2017, Libby held academic posts at the University of Chester, Bangor University and the University of Essex.
