I began working at LJMU in May 2012, following a career in Child and Family Social Work. This included safeguarding children, care planning and fostering in Local Authorities. My passion for working with children and families is grounded in the belief that families need support at times and should be allowed to bring up children in a safe environment. However, I do believe that the overriding consideration is the welfare and protection of children.

I am registered with the professional regulator H Social Work England and am an independent member of a Fostering Panel.

I have been nominated for the Amazing Personal Tutor Award in 2013; the Amazing Teacher Award in 2014 and shortlisted for the Amazing Teacher Award in 2016.
