Joshua is a versatile and highly skilled nurse with a diverse background in both overseas and UK healthcare settings. His extensive qualifications and clinical experience span across trauma orthopaedics, adult nursing, and public health. He holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, and is professionally qualified as an Adult Nurse, Midwife, and Public Health Nurse in Nigeria. Additionally, Joshua further advanced his expertise by obtaining a Master’s degree in Trauma Science from Queen Mary University, London, and is registered as an adult nurse with the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Joshua's nursing career began at the American University of Nigeria Health Centre, where he worked as a registered nurse and researcher from 2015 to 2019. During this period, he honed his skills in patient care and research, gaining valuable experience in a challenging healthcare environment. In pursuit of broader opportunities, he relocated to the UK, where he has since worked in both community and acute care settings.
In his role at Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation, Joshua earned an Excellence in Care Award, recognizing his dedication to patient care, advocacy, and his commitment to delivering the highest standard of healthcare. At Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, he further distinguished himself by engaging student nurses in practical, hands-on learning experiences, while also exploring the importance of professional charisma within the multidisciplinary teams.
Currently, Joshua serves as a lecturer in the School of Nursing and Advanced Practice, where his teaching focuses on trauma management, health promotion, professionalism, global health, and emotional intelligence in nursing. His expertise and passion for education help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals, while his continued involvement in clinical practice ensures his teaching is grounded in real-world experience.
