I qualified as a Children’s Nurse in 2013 at Edge Hill University. I then went on to complete a Post Grad Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – Health Visiting. I worked as a Health Visitor for many years and as part of that role I developed an in-depth knowledge and understanding of public health and how social determinants affects the physical and mental health of patients. I was exposed to many issues within practice and became skilled in the local community at offering support to patients. I am excited to share my knowledge and skills with students and would like to motivate them to become more knowledgeable about their local communities and to promote public health. In order to become well rounded nurses and to enable them to become effective holistic nurses offering gold standard patient centred care.
