Beccy Harrison has worked as a researcher at LJMU since 2005 and currently works within the Applied Health and Wellbeing Research Team, based in the School of Nursing and Advanced Practice. Beccy specialises in social value methodology, the application of Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis, and asset-based community development (ABCD); as well as conducting mixed methods research evaluations. Other areas in which she has undertaken research includes: county lines, trauma information approaches to workplace development, violence prevention (Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, Wales Violence Reduction Unit, Hampshire Violence Reduction Unit). This work has been undertaken with a number of key stakeholder groups such as commissioners, service providers and service users. Most recently this has included work with vulnerable populations such as those with substance misuse issues, mental health issues and those who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACES); community practitioners; and third sector and voluntary organisations.


Supervision: Beccy is a student dissertation supervisor for both undergraduate and Master’s level students. She is also co-supervisor for two PhD students: 1) Constituent Museum Toolkit: Using asset-based community development to reimagine museum structures. 2) Developing an outcomes framework to evaluate the impact of social prescribing on health, wellbeing, and health inequalities in the Liverpool City Region.
