Dr. Omar A. Aldhaibani, is a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), possesses a wealth of expertise at the nexus of computer engineering, wireless networks, and advanced sensor technologies. His academic journey culminated in a PhD focusing on Software Defined Wireless Network (SDWN) engineering, where he delved into refining intelligent handover decisions in Wi-Fi environments by leveraging Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics and machine learning.
At LJMU's Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Research Institute, Dr. Aldhaibani was spearheads pioneering research aimed at developing sensor platforms. This involves creating non-destructive measurement solutions for healthcare monitoring and innovative sensing technologies to detect insecticide residue on walls, crucial for combating diseases like Malaria. His expertise in design, construction of electronic and RF systems and developing software for microwave systems using AI for decision-making, implementing deep learning techniques to analyse data.
During his tenure as an Industrial Systems Specialist at Sensor City, Dr. Aldhaibani showcased his prowess by leading and contributing to numerous impactful projects. Notably, he engineered a low-power ePaper device for healthcare monitoring and devised a sophisticated power consumption monitoring system for Knowsley Safari Park. These projects demonstrate his proficiency in harnessing IoT, LoRa networks, and embedded systems to develop practical, real-world solutions.
His technical prowess extends to diverse programming languages (Python, C/C++, VHDL) and comprehensive hardware/software development. Proficient in Ai and adept at intelligent system development utilizing fuzzy logic, Dr. Aldhaibani is well-versed in PCB design, electronic circuits, and a range of microcontrollers, including Pycom, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino.
Moreover, Dr. Aldhaibani actively engages in academic endeavors, blending theoretical knowledge with practical applications. He imparts his extensive knowledge by teaching engineering mathematics and Internet of Things (IoT) modules, ensuring students receive comprehensive, hands-on learning experiences.
