Sian is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management within the School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
Sian graduated from the University of Liverpool with a first class honours degree in construction project management.
Sian is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) with 12 years’ experience working for a national construction contractor in the UK.
Sian's career commenced as a Site Engineer post-graduation, progressing into Site Management and later Design Management. Sian's industrial experience includes working on hospital projects, large scale retail developments, courts, police and custody buildings, educational establishments and listed refurbishment schemes for the hotel and leisure sector.
Since joining LJMU as a Senior Lecturer in 2012, Sian has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and is embarking on a Masters Degree in this field. Sian's main teaching activities include Construction Site Management, Project Lifecycle Management and Building Information Modelling. Sian's research interests include building design for autism and teaching & learning for disabled students, specifically neurodiverse students.
