Fiona is Programme Leader in Executive Education at Liverpool Business School and Chair of Baltic Creative Community Interest Company. She combines her practice and research to explore how social enterprises and community owned business models are a catalyst for responsible business growth, better ecosystems and contribute to sustainable local and regional economies.
Since 2019 Fiona has worked with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and the One Day group of women to build a consistent evidence base calling for devolved policy which addresses gender inequalities in the region. This emerged from an activist perspective both to the pre pandemic economic industrial strategy and the post pandemic response from the CA. The 21/22 One Day Today report calls for change - greater representation, scrutiny and consideration of the impact of policy on women’s economic contribution in the region. As such the CA announced their commitment to a Gender Panel and action plan in 2022.
Fiona is also co-investigator on an MKTP with Faculty of Health and Cobalt Housing Association in North Liverpool that is developing a structured transformational approach for the organisation combining behavioural health data, multi stakeholder relationships and local wealth creation / community wealth building strategy in North Liverpool.
