International Graduations: YPC Malaysia



Our heartfelt congratulations to all our 2024 graduates in Malaysia!

Liverpool John Moores University proudly hosted the Class of ’24 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre this week, in tandem with our partner institution YPC International College.

The ceremony, attended by 450 family, friends and distinguished guests, celebrated the achievements of graduates from various fields of study, including:

  • Doctorate in Business Administration
  • BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance
  • BSc (Hons) E-Business Technology and Management
  • BA (Hons) Business Management
  • BSc (Hons) Multimedia Computing

The event was presented by Dr Adam Shore, Director of Liverpool Business School, Prabha Sundram, Head of Education (Malaysia) British Council and Dato' Thavalingam C. Thavarajah, an LJMU alumnus and prominent labour and employment lawyer.

Congratulating the graduates, Dr Shore offered valuable insights and advice as they prepare to embark on their careers, highlighting how YPC exemplifies the spirit and ethos of LJMU in delivering high-quality, industry-focused programmes that meet the needs of employers.

Ms Prabha Sundram said the LJMU-YPC partnership was a testament to the enduring UK-Malaysia collaborations in education, a journey that began in 2005 and has since grown in strength, value, and innovation. She expressed pride in the way LJMU and YPC serve as an excellent example of how educational partnerships can foster people-to-people connections, drive positive change, and contribute to communities and nations, aligning with the British Council’s mission in education.

Dato’ Thavalingam C. Thavarajah, a distinguished alumnus of Liverpool John Moores University was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1990, prior to which he was admitted as a Barrister-at-law at Gray’s Inn. He described his transformative experience at LJMU and is he is committed to giving back to society and cherishing his alma mater by contributing to its ongoing legacy in Malaysia through YPC International College.

LJMU graduates more than 15,000 students each year in China, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, the Middle-East and Africa.
