Congratulations to our graduates in Sri Lanka!
More than 500 joined us to celebrate their degrees from Liverpool John Moores University in association with the International College of Business and Technology, Colombo.
Graduates attained Bachelor, Masters and Higher Diplomas in a range of civil engineering, construction, surveying disciplines as well as biomedical and general engineering.
ICBT Campus Chairman Dr Jagath Alwis was joined by LJMU Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Ndy Ekere in presiding over the ceremony at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo, on 17th February 2024.
Professor Ekere who heads the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, said: “Internationalisation is very important to LJMU as we shape our contribution to the world’s future. We always seek to work with like-minded institutions and ICBT exemplifies the sprit and ethos of Liverpool John Moores University.
“We feel that both institutions share many common goals and the core principles of providing high quality, industry-focused programmes, which address the needs of local, national and international employers. We are very proud of our graduates and the impressions they make when entering the world of work. I congratulate every one of them on their achievement and wish them good luck for the future.”
Dr Julia Wang, Director of International Relations and Dr Tina Marolt Cebasek, Senior Lecturer School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment also attended the ceremony on behalf of LJMU.
Dr Wang said: “We cherish our growing LJMU community overseas and are proud of each and every one of them, graduating today. As LJMU alumni, we wish them every success in their future career and welcome them to our growing, global LJMU family.
