Reminder to all students to be a good neighbour
Summer is here, and with more time spent outside and catching up with friends, LJMU are reminding all students, living within the community, some simple reminders on how to be a good neighbour.
As a Liverpool John Moores University student, your behaviour plays a part in building and maintaining positive relationships within the local community.
Whether you are heading home for the summer, or staying in Liverpool, here are four simple ways you can avoid being involved in anti-social behavior and stay safe in your community:
-
Be considerate - of your neighbours and those around you. Is your behaviour consistent with how you would expect your own neighbours to behave?
-
Keep noise ‘reasonable’ – remember how it affects others, avoid loud music, raised voices, or slamming doors, especially at night
-
Remember to lock doors and windows - protect yourself and those you live with against theft
-
Show respect and empathy – If challenged by a neighbour about your behaviour, respond respectfully and remember the elderly, those unwell, professionals or families with young children, may be more sensitive to noise.
If you have a noise or anti-social behavior complaint about other neighbours living in your community, you can make a complaint, find out more on the Liverpool Student Homes webpage. If you have any end of tenancy questions you can speak directly to Liverpool Student Homes too.
Remember that as a student you need to adhere to our Student Code of Behaviour and Disciplinary Procedures.
