Avril Robarts Library
The Avril Robarts Library provides all forms of learning via multi-media. This award winning building was designed by Architects Austin-Smith:Lord. In the landscaped garden area is a statue of Sir John Moores (1896-1993), by sculptor Tom Murphy, which was unveiled in 1998.

Byrom - Cherie Booth Building
This building, named after LJMU's Emeritus Chancellor Cherie Booth QC, includes academic and conference facilities. It is home to the Department of the Built Environment and is part of the teaching and learning facilities on the Byrom Street Campus. As a conference venue, it combines cutting edge design with all the facilities you expect from a contemporary venue.

Byrom - James Parsons Building
This building was named after James Parsons who was the last rector of the Liverpool Polytechnic, including well equipped IT suits, lecture theatres and specialist research facilities. The James Parsons Building was built in three phases as part of the Byrom Street Campus, that has recently had new cladding installed to enhance the thermal, acoustic and visual aspects of the building.

Byrom - Max Perutz
Max Perutz building is situated within the James Parsons site. In 1970 this wing was specially designed for nuclear studies. The late Austrian-born scientist Max Perutz was a leading molecular biologist and was awarded the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1962.

This award winning building has quickly become a popular and successful conference venue. There are well equipped lecture / conference theatres and seminar rooms, and specialist research venues. Professor Peter Jost CBE is a leading civil engineer. This building also houses part of the School of the Built Environment who are also located in the Cherie Booth Building and Henry Cotton Building.

Byrom - Tom Reilly
Designed by architects Austin-Smith:Lord, and completed November 2009, the Tom Reilly Building provides world-class sports and science facilities.
The state-of-the-art building, which houses the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences and the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, offers some of the best facilities in the world. These include appetite laboratories, psychology testing labs, neuroscience labs, an indoor 70-metre running track, force plates, caren disc, physiology suites, a DEXA scanner for measuring body fat, muscles and bone density, a driving simulator and a chronobiology lab.
LJMU named the facility after the late Professor Tom Reilly, known as the ‘Father of the Science of Football.’ He was the UK’s first Professor of Sports Science and a plaque was unveiled in his honour by his wife Jill Reilly, and his daughters Anna and Siobhán Reilly.

Tithebarn Street
Tithebarn Street houses the Faculty of Health and an attractive refectory sited in Avril Robarts Learning Resource Centre can be accessed via this building.
Britain's first college of commerce was opened in 1931. The building was extended in 1954 and again in 1966. The ground floor and other areas were extensively modernised in 1997. Near this site in 1514 Lord Molyneux, Lord of the Manor, built his tithe barn.
