Amendments
Collecting Data Remotely
As of April 2020, Zoom should not be used as a research tool (e.g. for conducting interviews). LJMU IT Services recommend the use of Microsoft Teams. If you have any difficulty using Teams, please read the guidance provided on the 'Remote Working' web page. You should log on to Teams (either through the app on your desktop or phone, or via teams.microsoft.com) with your username@ljmu.ac.uk (not your email address) and your usual LJMU password.
Studies associated with minimal risk
UREC does not need to be notified of study amendments that do not change the associated risks beyond those considered to be minimal risk.
If the changes are significant such that the principal investigator proposes to undertake a different study, the process of establishing the associated risks and submitting the required forms must be completed.
If study amendments change the associated risks beyond minimal, then the investigators must complete an ethics application form describing all aspects of the study and submit for ethical review and approval.
To determine the level of risk, please complete the decision tool (if you see the “welcome to Office” page, click “sign in”. At the Microsoft sign in page enter your username@ljmu.ac.uk)
Studies associated with low and higher than low risks
Please complete the study amendment notification form. Do not make any changes to an ethics application form that has been ethically approved. In Word, combine the study amendment notification form with the supporting documents that you have changed (e.g. the participant facing documents), “save as” a PDF and submit as ONE PDF to PR-UREC@ljmu.ac.uk
