A student will only be admitted if there are suitable arrangements for support, supervision and training are in place, and that the necessary resources are available at the student’s location.
In addition to meeting the standard academic and language eligibility requirements, candidates for remote research degrees must be able to demonstrate that they:
- can successfully conduct their research with the resources available at their off-campus study site;
- have access to appropriate IT facilities to conduct their research, access university online resources, access the online progression system, eDoc and suitable video conferencing software;
- have the necessary time, commitment and appropriate attitude toward studying off-campus.
The requirements of the Research Degree Framework and supporting policies apply to all PGRs studying at distance; completion of progression reviews, assessments and thesis submission should be in line with standard project timelines.
The minimum requirements for supervisory meetings apply.
Candidates who have studied at distance may have the viva voce examination online in accordance with University protocols.
